Festive Fun!

Snow is falling
All around us
Children playing
Having fun
It's tomorrow
Mum's the Word Christmas shin-dig
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Yay - Christmas is almost upon us and it's party time at MtW! We can't promise the snow will settle but we can tell you we have festive treats in the oven, hot chocolate, mulled wine, a raffle, seasonal singing round the piano and a prize for most festively dressed baby!

So put down that pastry, step away from the sellotape, and join us tomorrow for the last Friday fun of 2010. Oh, and we can promise that our party hosting is better than our song writing...

Crafty Christmas.

The snow has fallen, the temperatures have plummeted - what better way to warm up and get festive than decorating baubles at Mum's the Word tomorrow?! We have lashings of hot chocolate, tea and coffee, piles of cake, some seasonal tunes and enough festive cheer for everyone!

Pamper: For baby and you

Hello! Hope this finds you well and good, despite the rain and cold weather we're having. Maybe the thought of a manicure, or learning the art of baby massage (it's said to improve sleep which can only be a good thing!) will brighten this dismal week?

Tomorrow at Mum's the Word we will have a baby massage demo and Beautify, the salon at Abney Hall are offering us 15min manicures for an astonishing £5! Bargain or what?
If you would like to book a manicure, email back with your preferred time slot (15 min intervals starting at 3pm) and we will try and fit you all in. We will also be taking bookings on the day when you arrive if there are any slots left, and if there isn't - Beautify have kindly extended the offer to include next Tuesday and Wednesday too provided you book (with us) by tomorrow!

The usual tea and homemade cakes will, of course, be provided to pamper our stomachs!

Looking forward to seeing you.

All materials provided, just bring your creativity!

Launch week: report!

Well, well, well... Mum's the Word launched last Friday and we had a BRILLIANT turnout! A huge thank you to all of you who came along and made it such a successful first week. Nearly 50 of you turned up to drink tea, eat cake and bag yourselves a brand new item of clothing or two. And the children enjoyed themselves too! We had the Stoke Newington Gazette along - watch this space for the write-up - and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

One week and one hour to go!

With just over a week till launch we are busy letting everybody know about the event, making tablecloths, poring over cake recipes and finding pretty coat hangers for the clothes swap. We have a photographer to capture our inaugural week on camera, and we're raring to go!
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
